Disruptiva Washed Pink Bourbon - Peaks Series
We're Tasting
Gentle yet clear flavours of orange and orange blossom. Delicate wildflower honey combined with a subtle herbaceous sage character make this cup soft yet vibrant. Clean and structured, fresh and full of life.
About
This is a special offering. It is the very first harvest of pink bourbon from the Hurtado-Gamba family at Finca El Recreo. The seeds were initially shared by Don Wilfredo of Finca Alcatraz, facilitated by yours truly, and planted by Ronaldo Hurtado at El Recreo some three years ago. Amazing how time flies by. With only about 50 trees producing, this first harvest of only 10kg total is an absolute gem. Sometimes, it can take a few harvests for a crop to really come to life, so it will be exciting to see where the profile goes.
Pink bourbon was recently discovered to not be from the bourbon family at all, but rather an Ethiopian landrace that had been transplanted in Colombia not long ago, where it truly found its home.
This offering is grown in naturally shaded conditions and produced organically, with no certification.
Price paid by LULO to the Hurtado-Gamba family: $18usd/kg.
