We're Tasting
Wonderfully floral, with a prominent lavender note up front. Fresh lemon citric and more complex rhubarb malic acidities provide an energetic structure to the cup. Highly sweet, with blueberry and blackberry standing out.
Exuberant, expressive, layered with flavour and just a lovely cup from start to finish.
About
You may have seen a Gesha from Finca Alcatraz before, but this is something new.
This iteration of the famous Ethiopian landrace variety marks the first significant harvest of Don Wilfredo's fresh crop, the result of four years of hard work, perseverance, and an immense amount of care.
Price paid by LULO to the Ule-Vargas family: $25usd/kg.

Drying Method |
A mix of raised beds and marquesina (greenhouse) over a period of 30 days. Weather is always an issue, with rain and cold sometimes preventing lots from drying at all. Because of this, Don Wilfredo runs a rigorous drying program, moving the cherries up to 7 times per day. |
