We're Tasting
Our first official dark roast. No burnt flavours or mystery coffees here. Same old Nasa U'Y blend, roasted to full-bodied perfection.
Coffee that tastes like coffee, in the best of ways.
About
This offering is a blend of coffees from 36 Nasa Indigenous family farms in the Resguardo de Togoima. Each lot is about one hectare in size and traditionally organic, with lots of biodiversity and natural shade in each one. The community lot is put together by sisters Jackie and Julieth Liz, and is based on longstanding relationships with their neighbours.
The varieties found in the blend are: caturra, cenicafe 1, castillo, tabi, and bourbon. The semiwashed process is the traditional way of treating their crop. The fruit is pulped with almost no water and washed before drying with some 30% mucilage.
Price paid by LULO to the Liz-Andela family: $9.7usd/kg.
